I’m proud to announce the new, improved TennisAbstract.com<\/a>, now with challengers, qualifiers, Davis Cup, and ATP matches back to 1968.<\/p>\n

Previously, the site was limited to ATP-level matches back to 1991. \u00a0Now, the number of matches available has increased from 70,000 to 240,000, and the number of players with a page on the site has jumped from roughly 1,600 to almost 7,500.<\/p>\n

Historical Matches<\/strong><\/p>\n

TA now includes every tour-level match ever played. \u00a0(In theory, anyway.) \u00a0You can check out Arthur Ashe’s career record<\/a>, or his head-to-head with Rod Laver<\/a>, or his performance in finals<\/a>. \u00a0This dataset goes back to 1968.<\/p>\n

Challengers<\/strong><\/p>\n

The biggest addition to the site is at the challenger level. \u00a0I’ve added nearly 90,000 challenger matches, which include all main-draw results since 1991. \u00a0Stats, including ace percentage and first serve percentage, are available for most challenger matches of the last five years. \u00a0For instance, see the epic 2011 Challenger season of Cedrik-Marcel Stebe<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Qualifying Rounds<\/strong><\/p>\n

Many players split their time between challengers and qualifiers, so it wouldn’t make sense to have one without the other. \u00a0Qualifying matches for tour-level events back to 2007 are now in the database, and most have stats. \u00a0 A glance at David Goffin’s page<\/a> now tells the more complete story of his path to the French Open round of 16.<\/p>\n

Davis Cup<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since I launched the site, Davis Cup has been the most frequent request. \u00a0Now it’s here. \u00a0World Group back to 1981. \u00a0World Group play-offs back to 2003. \u00a0Groups I and II back to 1994. \u00a0You can now check out the Davis Cup career of Andy Roddick<\/a>, among hundreds of others.<\/p>\n
